Internet/Email

Prerequisite:  Intro to computers

Welcome to  Introduction to the Internet. This course contains eight lessons with step-by-step instructions designed to introduce you to the Internet.

In these lessons you will learn basic Internet skills.  You will learn the ways to navigate on the Web, search for information and how to participate in message boards, chat and instant messages. Later lessons show you how to save your favorite web addresses. How to download and save files from the Internet. You will use the Internet to gather information that will help you compare prices when you want to make purchases online or off.

What is e-mail?  You will actually construct your own e-mail address on the Yahoo site.  How do e-mail addresses work?  How does e-mail travel?  What is a Subject line?  What is the bcc and cc line?  How do you send a picture?  Did I really send that e-mail?  Find the answers to these questions, and many, many more with this class dedicated to help you understand e-mail better.

To help you put what you are learning into practice, we’ve included some practice files that you can use as you explore these lessons.

  • Each lesson begins with a general statement of the objectives of the lesson and the features or commands that you will learn, and ends with a summary of what you have learned and a preview of the next lesson.

  • As you progress through each lesson and the subsequent lessons, there is a built-in review of the features and commands you are learning.
